Orders pharmaceuticals, IV solutions and pharmacy supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels of stock, restocks cardiopulmonary resuscitation modules, anesthesia trays, other urgent care kits and medstations, eg Acu-Dose automated dispensing cabinets and issues E-mail alerts on product availability and status of shortages.
Supports purchasing and inventory decisions of management, complies with HCA contracts, computerized reporting requirements and RMC Pharmacy policies on vendors and provides spreadsheet and graphic illustrations of procurement activities and market trends.
Communicates with vendors and suppliers on product availability, meets with the pharmacy staff and management for biweekly updates, networks with other purchasing agents and establishes good working relationships with clients and customers.
Keeps accurate records of transactions fro budgetary and regulatory purposes and easily retrievable files of invoices and purchase orders.
Processes returns, credits and recalls, and reconciles patient medication charges and credits via the Meditech system.
Performs pharmacy technician work, as scheduled in IV admixtures and other inpatient activities when requested by the pharmacist-in-charge.
Maintains adequate levels of pre-packaged unit dose preparations, topical compounds and premixed IV solutions.
Coordinates inspections and/or performs assignments that improve the security, safety and storage of drugs.
Provides orientation, training, clerical and technical support of pharmacy staff on good inventory practices and medication order processes.
Monitors and helps keep pharmacy machines and devices, eg photocopier, fax machines, refrigerators, freezer, computers, etc in good working orders and handles and processes any recalls of pharmacy preparations.
