Job Summary and Qualifications

Have you always dreamed of working in the Emergency Department? Are you a current RN with at least 1 year of acute care experience? The ER Plus program is for you! Regional Medical Center has a unique opportunity with the StaRN Plus.


Cohort start Date:

  • Monday, June 3, 2024

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current California Nursing License
  • Current ACLS, BCLS & PALS certification required
  • Current TNCC, CEN & NEP preferred
  • Emergency, Trauma & Critical Care experience preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • Continuing education pertaining to Emergency/Trauma Care preferred
  • At least one-year acute hospital patient care required

For internal candidates only:

Eligible to transfer per policy:

  • 6 months in current position
  • No write ups in the last 6 months

For Plus hired into the facility, please note:

  • Candidates with less than 18 months of acute care experience will not be eligible for transfer.
  • Candidates with 18 to 24 months of acute care experience will be considered for this position.
  • Candidates with 24 months, or more, of acute care experience are preferred.

Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital provides a host of technologically advanced services including Cardiovascular, Neuro, Orthopedic, Bariatric and General Surgery, Interventional Pulmonology and services for Women. Regional holds Joint Commission advanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Get with the Guidelines- Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. County-designated STEMI (heart attack) Receiving Center designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, a member of Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ECMO) and certified by The Joint Commission in Sepsis care.
