    PRIMARY FUNCTION:
    The Math Interventionist will provide additional math support in Region 14’s middle school and high school. The need for support will be reviewed and positions placed in buildings according to documented needs. This will be an ongoing process allowing the district to meet the needs of all secondary-level students.
    EDUCATION/TRAINING:
    • Bachelor’s degree required, and teaching certificate required (029, 229)
    • Experience in math tutoring or teaching preferred
    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
    • Knowledge of mathematics content and ability to teach required skills in courses ranging from Grade 6 to Algebra 1
    • Ability to connect with students and identify their needs to work with them individually and in small groups
    • Ability to follow directions
    • Clear communication and collaboration skills
    REPORTS TO:
    Building administrators, and Math Instructional Coach
    WORK YEAR:
    Full-time based on school calendar
    With possible flexible hours for before or after-school help
    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide targeted instruction for students needing assistance in mathematics
    • Monitor and assess students using provided formative and summative assessments, technology programs, and universal screeners
    • Classroom support and small group remediation
    • Assisting students within the classroom in applying their learning
    • Individualized intervention with students in an alternative setting during class time or during the first hour of the after-school program
