Regents of Stow is Hiring a LPN Wellness Director Near Stow, OH

PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION:

The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the Director of Wellness in planning organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, the Medical Director, and/or the Director of Wellness, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY:

As the Assistant Director of Wellness, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. In the absence of the Director of Wellness, you are charged with carrying out the resident care policies established by this facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and assist with training regarding resident’s health and wellness. 
    Interview, train, supervise, appraise and implements corrective action for departmental personnel.
  • Completes all required record keeping related to these processes. 
  • Assist in Admission, and discharges.
  • Uses standard precautions to prevent spread of communicable diseases. 
  • Enforces and trains proper infection control practices to staff, residents and visitors.
  • Must have knowledge of the medical, social, and emotional needs of the frail, elderly population.
  • Must have effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to work independently and to utilize critical decision-making skills. 
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance.
  • Ability to delegate responsibility as well as accept supervision in an appropriate manner. 
  • Ability to deliver service in a compassionate, responsive and courteous manner. 
  • Must be Dependable, Resourceful and Flexible.
  • Must work a minimum of 40 hours weekly.
  • Must be available to report to facility or cover shift when need arises.
  • Must be able to work effectively with the staff, Doctors, and referral sources.
  • Must complete a staffing schedule.
  • Must prevent Overtime at all cost. 

 
NURSING CARE FUNCTIONS

  • Meet with each resident on a regular basis to provide health and wellness-checks and answers any health-related questions.
  • Review all resident information and complete an assessment of the resident prior to move-in when charges in the resident’s condition occur, and as required by community policy and state regulation. 
  • Order medications and oversee the resident’s medication schedule for resident’s receiving medication administration services. 
  • Ensure proper documentation for medication assistance/administration.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the resident, resident’s family and physician regarding the resident’s medical needs. 
  • Coordinate additional health services the resident may need. 
  • Assist in coordinating resident transfer to and from a hospital or another community.
  • Be on call for medical questions and resident emergencies.
  • Assist in coordinating resident’s dietary needs with the Executive chef. 
  • Review changes in resident’s condition with the resident’s physician and Administrator as needed. 
  • Assess residents and monitor their health.
  • Ensure that all infection control guidelines are met. 
  • Maintain resident’s Charts/records.
  • Supervise Personal Care Aides.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must have current and must maintain Diabetic education
  • Must be knowledge of Rules and Regulation 2600
  • Be familiar with our company’s policies and procedures

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

(With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)

  • Requires frequent standing, walking, turning, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching and lifting to assist residents and employees as needed. 
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to maintain verbal and written communication with employees and business employees outside of the community.  
    Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Alert and attentive to detail. 
  • Ability to remember names and places. 
  • Able to plan own work activities and manage multiple tasks. 
  • Must present a neat, clean, professional appearance and demonstrate a positive, cheerful attitude towards employees and residents. 
  • Will be available at all times to take phone calls pertinent to resident care concerns.
