As a Regency Senior Credit and Collections Specialist, you'll play a key role in minimizing our AR exposure through strategic, consistent, professional, legal, B2B collection efforts and extending of credit limits. The C&C Specialist will also ensure company risk is mitigated through establishing appropriate credit limits for customers and filing liens when necessary while maintaining a high level of compliance with audit requirements, company policy, and state-specific regulations.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

Credit:

• Review DNB and Credit Application
• Review the Bank and Trade References and follow deposit or preliminary notice requirements as needed
• Establish credit limits and escalate requests for higher limits as appropriate

Collections:

• Make collection calls to all customers (contractors and non-contractors)
• Call customers for updates on payments
• Document in a clear and concise manner all collection activities
• Identify what might be bad debt early on
• Assist other Collectors with Demand Letter
• Assist in reconciliation of larger accounts
• Negotiate payment terms when necessary
• Discuss and Manage Payment Plans
• File liens when necessary following requirements by state/jurisdiction
• Review Accounts on Net terms
• Send invoices
• Update Customer Maintenance screen when needed.

Miscellaneous:

• Interact with company systems to:
  • Review and release orders in a timely manner, following up as necessary with internal personnel.
  • File Prelims in Levelset to maintain company position.
  • Prioritize focus on the Order Release Portal as month end closes.
• Provide guidance to other collectors and service teams as necessary in a professional and effective manner.
• Make daily bank deposits
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS.

• Min. 3 years’ experience with effective collections and lien processing in construction industry
• Working knowledge of lien process in CA preferred
• Ability to collect on difficult accounts while maintaining customer relationships
• Effective listening and communication skills
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Ability to analyze situation and propose solutions
• High attention to detail
• Effective organization skills
• Consistency, tenacity, follow-through
• Proven ability to establish positive relationships with internal team and customers
• Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts for tasks related to payment terms, AR balances, etc.

• Proficiency with MS products, with emphasis on Excel and Outlook

The likely base annual salary range for this position is $55,000 - $85,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
