Regency Senior Communities is Hiring a Life Enrichment Services Coordinator Near Brookfield, WI

Within the framework of the objectives and policies established by the Campus Administrator and the Director of Lifestyle Services will assist in the direction of recreational program for residents to effect improvement in their physical, mental and social well being. Assists in the direction of activities such as arts and crafts, games, social activities in accord with residents’ needs, capabilities and interests as determined by administration staff. Assists in holiday decorating, community parties, resident parties, outings/trips, in-house entertainment, and other programs as needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with activities such as arts and crafts, games, baking, and social activities in accordance with resident interest, needs and capabilities as determined by staff and through resident interviews.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings, in-services, training, and community events as required.
  • Assist with planning and organizing of tours and shopping trips.
  • Set-up for movie, live entertainment, speakers and parties.
  • Assist with operation of Country Store, to include inventory, stocking and pricing as well as scheduling hours and volunteer staff.
  • Participate in the development of in-service programs for staff and/or volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain the Lifestyle Service Policies and Procedures.
  • Adhere to the philosophy, policies and procedures as established by Regency Senior Communities.
  • Perform other tasks as designed by the Director of Lifestyle Services.
  • Acknowledge, comprehend and support the residents and the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Maintain confidentiality of both residents and staff.
  • Comply with all required local, state and federal regulations
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Leisure Programming, and/or working with the geriatric population preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand, written or verbal labels and instructions in English.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a support staff with all departments of the organization.
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings, in-services, training, and community events as required.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Comfortable performing tasks, jobs, and/or projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work harmoniously with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
  • High energy level, well organized, and the ability to perform short-cycle, repetitive tasks.
  • Maintain professionalism in all communication and actions.
  • May be called in to work another shift to perform tasks as needed
  • Must pass required pre-employment tests and screenings.
  • Prior experience working with the geriatric population preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, tactful, mature, flexible, and possess the ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Motor coordination, eye-hand-foot coordination required to lead and participate in recreational activities such as dancing, group sports and games.
  • Manual and finger dexterity to participate and teach arts and crafts.
  • Ability to discriminate color for art instruction.
  • Able to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption, and attend to task/detail for more than 50 minutes at a time.
  • Able to perform difficult manipulative skills such as calibration of standard equipment.
  • Able to remember multiple tasks/assignments over long periods of time and take notes as required.
  • Able to clearly speak. Verbal ability necessary to orient service options to residents, and/or family members with varying levels of comprehension.
  • Ability to distinguish smells.
  • Adequate vision and hearing with ability to distinguish sounds such as voice patterns, auscultation, tape recordings, etc.
  • Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time and are able to reach, twist, sit, push, pull, squat, climb stairs, reach above shoulders, and bend at the knees.
  • Creative communicator, well organized, and resourceful.
  • Good reasoning and sound judgement.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and motor coordination are required in the operation of office machines and equipment.
  • Manual dexterity and motor coordination with ability to get down on hands and knees are required.
  • Must have genuine interest in the needs of the elderly population, understanding the problems they encounter and have patience and tact in serving their needs.
  • Spend four to six hours on your feet throughout the course of the workday.
  • Work is usually light and sedentary.
