Regency Senior Living is a Non-Mandate CompanyaJob Summary : Responsible for assisting the Activities Director in the delivery, development and implementation of a stimulating activity program encompassing physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual activities.
May be required to possess a CDL License.Major Duties and Responsibilities : Follows and facilitates monthly calendar of activities and all guidance from Activities Director while conducting programs and events that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities and challenges for the residentsEnsure Safety for all ResidentsProvides assistant in administrative functions as directed / instructed by the Activities Director, the Administrator, the Executive Director, or his / her designee in accordance with established facility policies and proceduresAssists with scheduled trips and outside activities;
Prepares supplies for upcoming activitiesInvites all residents to attend activities. Builds enthusiasm for the programs.
Welcomes new residentsPasses on recommendations and requests for new programs and activities to Activities DirectorWhen appropriate, logs attendance of activities and programsTreats all residents, families and staff with respect, dignity, hospitality and addresses the residents and the staff in a courteous and professional mannerPortrays a professional image within Regency and the local community by dressing in a professional manner and by maintaining a courteous decorum consistent with resident acceptance and interestUtilizes community services and volunteers as appropriateRequest assistance with residents in crisis, when appropriateGreet visitors in polite and professional manner, while reporting suspicious persons to supervisor or other management personnelEnsure guests and vendors abide by facility's rules and safety regulationsAssist Activities Director and other management staff as needed or directedAll Activities Assistant may need to be certified to drive all company vehicles as they may be required to help in the transportation of ResidentsMinimum Qualifications : Must be willing to obtain a CDL License if neededDemonstrates an interest in working with a senior populationDemonstrates a warm and outgoing personality.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the positionWilling to work flexible hours, such as during evenings and weekends for planned activities and eventsMust function with minimum supervision and have the flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, the resident's family members and coworkersHas obtained a minimum of a high school diplomaTypical Physical Demands : Extended standing, walking, ascending / descending stairs, full range of motion, ability to life / carry medium weight (up to 50 pounds), light pushing / pulling (up to 60 pounds), corrected vision and hearing, and a sense of touch for carrying out programs and activitiesVerbal and written communication in the English language necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members and the public, and for required written documentation or reportsMust be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
