Regalis Foods is Hiring a Specialty Foods Receiver Near New York, NY

As a Specialty Foods Receiver at Regalis Foods, you will play a critical role in maintaining the quality and integrity of our products from the moment they arrive at our facility. Your keen attention to detail, understanding of specialty food handling, and commitment to food safety standards will ensure that our inventory is received,
inspected, and stored according to the highest standards. This position requires someone with a background in handling specialty foods and ingredients, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is dedicated to upholding the quality that Regalis Foods is known for. This role will report to two key divisional heads: the Director of Supply Chain & Finance, and the General Manager of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Receiving and Inspecting Deliveries: Meticulously inspect all incoming shipments for quality, temperature control, and accuracy against purchase orders. Identify and report any discrepancies or quality issues immediately to management.
2. Inventory Management: Accurately log all received goods into the inventory management system, ensuring that products are tracked and stored efficiently. Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize waste.
3. Storage and Handling: Ensure that all products are stored in accordance with their specific requirements, including temperature control, humidity levels, and shelf life considerations. Handle all items with care to maintain quality and integrity.
4. Safety and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all food safety regulations and sanitation standards. Participate in regular training on food safety and emergency procedures.
5. Warehouse Organization and Space Optimization: Responsible for the systematic organization of the warehouse to ensure efficient use of space and easy access to inventory. Regularly assess and adjust layouts to accommodate new inventory, seasonal fluctuations, and operational changes, aiming to reduce retrieval times and improve overall workflow efficiency.
6. Conducting Monthly Inventory Cycle Counts: Lead the execution of monthly inventory cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.
Qualifications
● Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a receiving role, specifically working with specialty foods and ingredients.
● Forklift Certified: Must possess a current forklift certification from a recognized accrediting body. Demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts safely and efficiently in a warehouse environment, including both stand-up and sit-down models.
● Knowledge: Solid understanding of food safety standards and handling procedures for perishable and specialty food products.
● Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify quality issues or discrepancies in shipments.
● Organization Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
● Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, suppliers, and external partners.
● Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
This position will be Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with a starting pay rate of $27/hour. Benefits include health insurance, 401k, and a generous PTO policy.
