Reeves Construction is Hiring a Quality Control Technician I (Aggregate/Asphalt Materials) Near Blacksburg, SC

Title: QA / QC Level 1 Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sampling and testing aggregate/asphalt materials.
  • Responsible for gradation of stockpiles at plant sites.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process and tests products for a variety of qualities, such as dimension, performance, and mechanical, or gradation.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Data entry into computer for analysis.
  • Must have the ability to work safely and follow the policies and procedures of the company.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2 years related experience and/or training.
  • Level 1 NC D.O.T. or SC D.O.T preferred.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

  • Must be able to climb onto and up and down several times a day.
  • Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.

The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
