MISSION

• Reeves Construction Company is looking for an experienced Asphalt Plant Foreman for the Reeves - Columbia Asphalt Plant with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in operating an asphalt plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Duties include, but are not limited to the following:)

• Operation of hot mix asphalt plant and supervision of assigned employees.
• Responsible for implementing environmental, health and safety regulations and policies (local, state, governmental) in addition to company's safety policies and initiatives.
• Must have a basic knowledge of the mechanics, hydraulics, and the limitations of the plant.
• Responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating daily activities and work assignments in conjunction with Plant Superintendent, Paving supervisors and salesmen to ensure production is managed well.
• Responsible for production, record keeping, and maintaining clear communication with management and employees. Will also be responsible for submitting data and reports as required.
• Must have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on the plant and keep maintenance records.
• Must keep plant serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
• Must have an understanding of the dangers involved in a plant operation.
• Must have a basic knowledge of abilities and limitations in all applications. Ability to recognize potential problems before breakdowns occur.
• Must have the ability to work safely and follow the policies and procedures of the company.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 - 3 years' experience operating an asphalt plant.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Certified Public Weigher's License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS of Asphalt Paving Foreman:

• Must be able to climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
• Must be able to sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping.
• Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
