Food Quality Assurance Specialist

Who We Are

We are a family-owned food manufacturing company with locations in central and northern Mississippi.

Location:

This is an on-site position. The Quality Assurance Specialist would work at our sauce plant, in Pearl MS.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong problem-solving skills and a good work ethic. They would need to keep up in a fast-paced department while maintaining an attention to detail.

Essential Job Functions

· Conduct sampling and analysis of in-process and finished products.

· Taste and smell food products.

· Maintain records of all facility analytical results; immediately report out-of-specification results to the QA supervisor.

· Follow a work schedule.

· Must be able to perform repetitive tasks without getting bored or distracted.

· Must be able to clean equipment and check that equipment has been cleaned properly.

· Assist with all food safety/quality audits, SQF audits, and customer audits.

· Assist the QA and management teams with others needs that may arise.

Education/Experience/Skills

· High School Graduate

· Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a science-based field is preferred

· An aptitude for problem-solving.

· Ability to function as part of a dynamic team.

· Ability to stand for long periods, walk through a wet, hot and/or cold manufacturing plant, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Schedule

· Our QA team works Monday through Friday, with weekend requirements as needed.

Compensation

· $14-18/hr, depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
