Redwoods Post Acute is a skilled nursing facility with 152 beds located in the heart of Willow Glen in San Jose California. We are seeking a committed Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for our Infection Preventionist, IP Nurse role in our skilled nursing facility!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
• Monitor and investigate potential outbreaks of infectious diseases
• Educate and train staff on infection prevention protocols
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of the facility to identify any infection risks or gaps in infection control practices
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement infection prevention plans
• Participate in infection control committees and meetings
• Stay up-to-date with current trends and research in infection prevention and control

REQUIREMENTS:

• Infection Prevention certificate in the state of California is a plus but not required
• Valid and active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of California.
• Must have an active BLS through the American Heart Association
• Must have an active CPR Certification
• Is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards is required
• Interest in working with the geriatric population
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding infection control
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in a Long Term Care or Skilled Nursing Facility
• Experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse
• Experienced Infection Preventionist
