Redwood Credit Union is looking for a Consumer Loan Funder II who will support RCU’s lending departments and is primarily focused on the documentation and funding of Consumer Loans. By working individually and as part of a team, the funder prepares loan documents, organizes, and audits the consumer loan file to ensure an accurate and expeditious loan closing, while providing a superior Member experience. The Consumer Loan Funder II has comprehensive skills in reviewing all consumer loan types including applications that are complex in nature. The Consumer Loan Funder II functions at a higher level of production and will be available to assist with the training and development of newer team members.
Essential Functions
Funding Loans
• Responsible for the timely and accurate coordination, processing, and funding of all loan applications, including reviewing and interpreting underwriting conditions.
• Receive funding packets as assigned by department and manage funding from the various incoming channels.
• Analyze Loan approval conditions in loan origination system (LOS). Verify the accuracy and integrity of all loan data entered into the system including but not limited to Membership, names, addresses, government monitoring information, loan information (i.e. loan amount, interest rate, terms, KBB/NADA/Black Book/MSRP information, income, etc.)
• Manage and continue to maintain all data and updates within the LOS throughout the funding process.
• Ability to assist with and answer DMV titling questions of moderate complexity to ensure RCU’s lien is appropriately perfected, and the Member understands expectations.
• Communicate and follow-up with Members/vendors regarding loan status and request and manage the timely return of required documentation needed to fund loan.
• Ability to discuss loan options and programs with Members and vendors to ensure quality Member service.
• Identify cross sell opportunities that will benefit Member.
• Analyze credit report and credit applications to ensure credit requirements and loan policies are met.
• Verify Members income by paystubs and or analyze personal and business tax returns to ensure income and loan policy requirements are met.
Lending Support
• Utilize queue management system, within LOS, in conjunction with Loan Officers to ensure high quality Member/vendor service.
• Propose new or improved processes that will improve current file flow within the Consumer loan process.
• Provide exceptional service to all Members, volunteers, internal employees, and vendor.
• Assist with lending department phone coverage, answering calls from Members, Branch staff and dealers.
• Review and complete lending reports as needed or assigned.
Other Functions
• Provide general assistance in completing higher level tasks or projects.
• Research and resolve Member or team member concerns as directed.
• Compose and type general correspondence including emails, letters, memo communication for staff, vendors and Members.
• Represent RCU in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
\nMinimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma, plus a minimum of four years’ experience in the lending industry or closely related field.
Compensation: Base starting range: $25.00 to $33.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
