The Project Superintendent is a key employee for every project. As part of a Project Team and in conjunction with the Project Manager, the Superintendent provides overall on-site administrative and construction management on the job site. This position requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and other mobile and web-based construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat, etc, is required for this position. 

Primary Big 7 Responsibilities:

  • Daily Log completed in Procore for assigned projects 
  • Schedule Updates weekly - Two Week Look Ahead - distributed to subs/owner at OAC
  • Tool Box Talks - Daily Foreman Meeting - Safety Checklist
  • QA/QC - compliance with design - zero punch list 
  • Maintain MIT (Most Important Things) List and Milestone Task Planner
  • Daily Crew Planner & Manage Weekly Team Meetings for projects 
  • Customer Update - Weekly email / OAC meeting.

General Responsibilities:

  • Establish the sites logistics plan for the field office, trailer yard, dumpster, etc.
  • Develop scheduled project utilizing MS Project and upload it to Procore for distribution
  • Conduct job/task planning analysis and schedule personnel, equipment, and materials
  • Conduct site orientations for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors
  • Conduct trade foreman meetings to review schedule and coordination issues
  • Determine material and equipment submittal development time, engineers review time, fabrication time, and installation time
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of self-performed work and subcontractors' work against published schedules.
  • Monitors and enforces, along with the project team, Redwood safety, and OSHA safety standards to maintain a safe working environment for all employees, and site visitors.
  • Create a site-specific quality control plan and implement the same
  • Identify potential errors regarding project drawings and specifications and issue RFIs as needed
  • Ensure that inspections with independent inspectors, and government officials, including subcontractor inspections, are performed as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED. 4 Year Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or 10 years minimum of onsite job experience 
  • 5 years of experience in a construction-related management capacity in the field. 
  • 30-Hour OSHA certification preferred 
  • Certified in CPR/First Aid recommended
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, and Outlook) in Microsoft Project Scheduling Software. Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and other software used in the construction industry.
  • Understand and utilize Procore Construction Management Software
  • Know about construction (means and methods) and an understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts
  • Knowledge of job cost accounting; job cost estimates and job costs to date 
  • Able to review and interpret project specifications and drawings
  • Must know safety guidelines and regulations
  • Ability to take a task with minimum direction and complete it
  • Ability to work with others to resolve job site issues
  • Appropriate tools to perform typically required carpentry work
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Must work well with others, especially in stressful situations
  • Ability to build relationships with Redwood employees and subcontractors
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.
  • Clear concise communication skills both written and verbal.
