Stillstrom is seeking a Lead Engineer (Detailed Design) to join a groundbreaking ocean cleantech initiative. We offer an exciting role in an early-stage venture company owned by A.P. Moller Maersk with a dynamic and international team growing to ca. 20 colleagues. When joining Stillstrom you will become part of the Stillstrom technical group and report directly to the Chief Technical Officer. The Lead Engineer (Detailed Design) at Stillstrom excels in guiding front-end and detailed design activities, specializing in incorporating offshore environmental conditions. This role covers detailed analysis of various structures, ensuring compliance with codes and standards. Responsibilities include managing sub-contractors with a strong focus on safety and ensuring on-budget delivery in compliance with Stillstrom standards, supported by the supply chain function. Key responsibilities As Stillstrom’s new Lead Engineer (Detailed Design) you will be responsible for all detailed engineering and mechanical engineering analysis aspects of Stillstrom offshore charging solutions. Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and external subject matter experts, you will identify and address design challenges. Key responsibilities include: Strict adherence to relevant internal and external processes, procedures and standards. Completion of deliverables in line with defined work scopes, considering relevant codes and standards. Being active in developing a robust Stillstrom safety culture, with safety of personnel and equipment a core consideration. Facilitate detailed design peer reviews and be a participant in Hazard Identification, Risk Analysis, and Risk Mitigation processes. Lead mechanical engineering studies on topics like material selection, load & vibration management, corrosion management. Develop solutions for effective packaging of charging systems for robustness, ease of installation and scalability. Responsible for definition of system maintenance process and requirements. Effective use of Stillstrom lessons learnt databases to capture key learning and implementation in future offshore charging solutions. Manage the interface with Classification Societies ensuring timely submission of design documentation for review and approval. Manage allocated Suppliers and Sub Contractors to ensure timely completion of work scopes to Stillstrom standards and to agreed budgets. Supporting the Business Development team in providing design input for proposed charging solutions and identifying key risks and potential mitigations. Awareness and understanding of Stillstrom intellectual property and patent process Who we are looking for The ideal candidate possesses a relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the full project delivery lifecycle. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who: Is experienced in document control and planning processes Is conversant with relevant classification society and industry standards and best practice Is familiar with industry standard analysis software and able to critically interpret results Has min. 5-10 years of relevant experience in industry or similar role, preferably within mechanical engineering High-level proficiency in both written and spoken English is a must. The nature of the role requires travelling, including Offshore site visits – approx. 30-60 days a year. When travelling, interaction with supplier, clients and public officials is required.
