Software Engineering Department

The Software Engineering team at Red 6 develops software for systems to see and interpret the world. These systems synthesize and visualize a synthetic reality into a hive mind of real-world knowledge. We are engineering high performing and highly advanced augmented and virtual reality platforms and infrastructure, which support our military partners’ operations. This enables us to collaborate and train with the world’s most advanced military systems and develop our soldiers’ capabilities as the world’s most important line of defense.

The Role

As a Build and Test Engineer at Red 6, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling infrastructure for development, automation, build, and release tools in a government and commercial setting. You will develop, scale, and control strategies, standards, guidelines, governance of build, release, automation, and development tools and infrastructure. You will be responsible for identifying shortfalls and optimizations in our development and deployment pipelines and implementing solutions. You will be developing automated tests along with build and release pipelines. If you are excited about releasing quality code, this is for you!

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience as a Build engineer or similar role
• Strong experience with build and release tools and pipelines, including CI tools such as Jenkins
• Vast working experience on GIT and Jira tools
• Strong experience in unit-testing frameworks and implementation of automated testing
• Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and databases
• Problem-solving attitude and collaborative team spirit
• Strong knowledge of popular cloud computing platforms
• Strong understanding of network essentials and system administration exposure
• Experience working in an AGILE environment
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Qualified candidate must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred / Additional Skills

• Knowledge of CMMI Level 3 processes
• Experience with release management
• Experience with a test software package like SmartBear TestComplete
• Familiarity with Risk and Issue Management
• Experience with government and commercial product delivery
• Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation
