JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, the maintenance technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of production equipment and building facilities.

• Installs,maintains and repairs production equipment such as continuous aerating mixer,ovens, packaging machine, depositors, washers, conveyors and the like.
• Installs,services, and repairs electric motors, heaters, coolers, refrigerators andother related equipment using various hand and power tools of the maintenancetrades.
• Installs,maintains and repairs air compressors and other air conditioning equipmentusing various machine tools.
• Movesand replaces machinery and auxiliary apparatus using hand and electric trucks,forklifts and dollies.
• Installs,maintains and repairs pumps, drives, valves and pipes using various maintenancetools.
• Replacesfuses, light bulbs, circuit breakers, electric switches and other electricalequipment following electrical specifications.
• Providestraining to machine operators on the proper use of equipment.
• Maintains,records and prepares reports related to the repairs and maintenance.
• Ensuresproper use, care and storage of tools and equipment
• Performswelding jobs
• Maintainscleanliness of work area

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education

• Thisposition requires high school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• An equivalent of five (5) yearsexperience in welding, refrigeration, electrical/mechanical maintenance

Bona FideOccupational Qualifications (BFQs) (Required Training, License & Certification)

Preferred Qualification:

• Two-yeardegree in specialized maintenance
• Computerliterate (Proficient in MS Applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Have avalid welder’s certificate

• Knowledgeof the accepted practices, processes, materials and tools of the maintenancetrade
• Abilityto read electrical and mechanical schematics of equipment
• Knowledgeof electric motors, pumps, refrigeration system, water systems and otherequipment and systems found in a food processing, especially a bakeshop
• Knowledgeof servicing and maintenance of simple power, heating and cooling units
• Abilityto do routine mechanical or electrical maintenance and care for tools andequipment
• Knowledgeof occupational hazards and safety precautions of the maintenance trades
• Musthave a valid driver’s license
• Being aforklift certified operator an advantage
• Goodproblem-solving skills
• Abilityto add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using wholenumbers, common fractions and decimals and calculate figures and amounts suchas proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume and the likes.
