Foothills (Ellenboro, NC) at Red Oak Recovery provides an enriching and experiential program that helps young people improve their lives. Using a holistic approach, our team supports clients on their path to self-love, self-acceptance, and self-awareness. Our facility provides medical, clinical, and experientially programming services to adolescent boys 14 to 17 years of age. We are seeking a part-time Medical Services Assistant who can provide support to our medical team while assisting staff, clients, and families in order to provide the best possible care for our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and detailed management of all client medications. Maintain an adequate medication supply (both prescription and OTC)
• Maintain the EMAR and ensure effective documentation of all medication administration
• Coordinate all medical appointments and provide networking ability and communication with all external medical specialists. (Psychiatrists, physicians, specialists as needed)
• Communicate with and update client’s parents (or primary caregivers) on any medical concerns or medication changes
• Provide ongoing medical based training for all direct care staff, and ensure that proper medical documentation and quality control occurs
• Provide ongoing medical check-in’s with all clients, and be the primary medical care provider while on base
• Be involved in a rotating on call schedule and available for medical consultation/expertise for all base/field scenarios
• Assist Operations Director with daily operations, including transporting clients to doctor’s visits, airport drop offs and pick ups, including the operation of 12 passenger vans, large SUVs and other company vehicles

Minimum Qualifications:

• EMT-Basic or LPN
• Medical background
• Current Certification is CPR/F.A./A&D
• Possess a valid driver’s license with qualifying driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the state of North Carolina
• Experience in Psychiatric Nursing
• Experience as an educator in environmental education
• Medical background
• Direct field experience
