About the job

The Red Hat Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) Solutions team is looking for a Product Owner to join us. In this role, you will serve as a critical member of our product team by supporting our analytics-driven product vision, creating relevant business needs, building and refining our offerings, and using product management principles in an open and collaborative environment. You’ll play a key part in accelerating our journey to Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Analytics-as-a-Service (AaaS). As a Product Owner, you will work closely with customers and technical teams to evangelize the product vision, contribute business strategy, and make key decisions about prioritizing work. You’ll need to have knowledge of technical software development life cycle principles, modern data and analytics technologies, data flow architectures, and agile software development best practices.

What you will do

  • Understand business strategy landscape and identify optimal data and analytics products needed to enable go-to-market initiatives 

  • Manage a portfolio of sales and finance data products, prioritizing strategic and tactical needs of a wide range of stakeholders

  • Build, refine, and deliver offerings based on strategy and business and data needs

  • Actively engage and collaborate with product, design, engineering, and data and analytics teams to oversee the entire data life cycle

  • Serve as a customer advocate by providing the business vision and customer context needed for the team to support translating requirements, prioritization, and delivery outcomes

  • Ensure that sprint priorities and outcomes are achieved against business requirements and in alignment with overall product vision

  • Influence, educate, maintain, and prioritize the requirements backlog while communicating and managing expectations with stakeholders

  • Translate requirements for larger data initiatives into smaller, actionables pieces to be delivered in increments (MVP approach)

  • Balance the strategy, governance, and implementation of data-related initiatives and facilitate conversations between all impacted stakeholders who use the offering

  • Participate in agile ceremonies

  • Champion a product environment that is customer-centric, agile, outcome-oriented, and collaborative

  • Provide encouragement, recognition, and support to the team

What you will bring

  • 5 years of experience supporting business functions within highly consultative environments focused on problem-solving and innovation

  • Strong relationship management skills, with both business and technical teams

  • Experience with data and analytics strategy and road map development 

  • Highly proficient at telling a story with data at the executive level

  • 3 years of experience working in product management, product ownership in agile technical product management or similar role

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle and agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures

  • Proven analytical and product management skills, including deep understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational requirements

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to present visions to stakeholders

  • Innovative and analytical problem-solving skills with close attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines 

  • Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment

  • Excellent business insight and understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives

  • Ability to think systematically and effectively when navigating ambiguously defined business problems

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment with a growing team

  • Ability to quickly understand scopes of work and evaluate trade-off scenarios relative to strategic important, business impact, and resource capacity

  • High standards for quality of work with an entrepreneurial excitement for building new offerings and services 

  • Industry-recognized product management certification or training
