Join our team in Chantilly, VA, as a Senior Staff Accountant , where strategic thinking meets hands-on impact. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting processes. Here's what you'll be doing:

• Execute month-end closing and financial reporting, including account analysis and reconciliation.
• Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls and confidentiality protocols.
• Assist in job costing and other operational areas as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government contract accounting standards.
• Collaborate with team members and management to improve internal control systems.
• Record vendor invoices and reconcile balance sheet accounts and monthly credit card statements.
• Manage semi-monthly payroll tasks, including accruals, deferrals, and interfacing with external payroll services.
• Act as primary backup to the Director of Finance.
• Utilize expertise in Deltek Costpoint or similar ERP accounting systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 3-5 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in full-cycle accounting, including monthly close processes and reconciliations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
• Proficient in Deltek Costpoint software and MS Excel.

Desired Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in government contracting and job cost accounting.
• Familiarity with DCAA audit and compliance reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and pricing policies.
