*This is a hybrid position. Work can be done from a combination of at home and at the GRAMMY Museum in downtown Los Angeles.*

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Manager, Partnerships & Special Events works under the general direction of Sr. Director, Advancement & Partnerships and will be responsible for managing the deliverables associated with our partnerships. This includes managing relationships with existing sponsors, identifying new sponsorship opportunities, and working with internal teams to ensure sponsor deliverables are met. You will also manage partnership, fundraising, and stewardship events for the Museum, including event logistics and guest management. You have experience in nonprofit fundraising, special events, brand sponsorship management, and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You have the ability to maintain positive relationships with all levels of GRAMMY Museum staff as well as key external stakeholders and partners.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage relationships with current partners and sponsors, ensuring all contractual deliverables are met in a timely and effective manner, which may include deliverables from multiple departments within the Museum.
  • Identify new sponsorship opportunities that align with the museum’s mission, programs, and values.
  • Work with internal teams (e.g., Events, Public Programs, Curatorial, Education, Marketing, and Communications) to coordinate sponsor deliverables such as: logo placement, acknowledgments, and other benefits.
  • Work with external partner organizations (e.g. the Recording Academy and AEG) to provide materials and information for cross-organizational sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sponsor engagement and retention.
  • Manage Advancement fundraising and stewardship events, including logistics, vendors, budget management, invitations, and guest lists.
  • Create and maintain sponsorship materials, including proposals, decks, agreements, and reports.
  • Monitor sponsorship revenue and expenses, providing regular updates to leadership and Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to sponsorship and fundraising activities.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, brand sponsorship management, or closely related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM databases, preferably Tessitura.
  • Basic understanding of the music industry and familiarity with industry trends and practices preferred.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with sponsors, donors, volunteers, board members, and internal teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write proposals, negotiate agreements, and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for growth and development.
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and quickly come up with solutions when they arise.
  • Availability to work night and weekend programs and special events as needed.
