Position Description

The AR Claim Specialist (ARCS) will exhaust all options with denied claims that might result in the claim getting paid. The ARCS will contact the insurance via phone, email, and/or fax to obtain the status of a claim if we have not received a response within 50 days from the billed date. The Practice Manager will set goals for the ARCS regarding denials and no response status claims, and the ARCS will work with the Practice Manager to complete these projects by the due date. The ARCS will be trained on industry standards but also must stay informed on industry standards through self-discovery.

Position Responsibilities

1. The ARCS will monitor and work the goal number of claims, with the status of denials or no response, that management sets.

2. The ARCS will complete tasks delegated to them by the Practice Manager.

3. The ARCS may help the Practice Manager enter in data and numbers to help track the number of claims that are worked and/or entered.

4. The ARCS will be an effective communicator of denial and no response trends that he/she sees in any practice he/she is assigned.

5. The ARCS will correspond via phone, email, and/or fax with insurance agents in a timely manner (24 hours).

6. The ARCS will complete (by submitting to the insurance) and scan (by uploading into the Practice Management Software) appeals for denials after completing phone reopenings, if phone reopenings are possible.

7. Navigate insurance and EHR portals to obtain Patient Health Information (PHI) to determine whether the claim is payable, while maintaining HIPAA standards.

8. The ARCS will work with the Practice Manager to achieve a 95% collection rate minimum for our clients.

9. Maintain and monitor trainings and processes that pertain to the ARCS’s position.

Position Requirements

· 2 years in relevant experience or successful completion of externship through reCLAIM Billing Solutions

· Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

· Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) knowledge

· Candidate will need to know the claim cycle and how claim processing works

· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

· Meticulous at note taking and organized

· Drive to generate results

· Fast learner

· Ability to work in fast-paced environment and maintain a sense of urgency through time management and multi-tasking

Compensation & Perks

Starting Salary: $37,000 - $45,000 per year. Depending on experience
