Rebound Orthopedics and Neurosurgery is Hiring a Medical Reception/Registration Representative (Lake Oswego) Near Oswego, OR

The hourly wage offered for this position is $17.51 - $24.17.
Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area with an array of sub-specialties including orthopedics, brain and spine care, sports medicine, physiatry, and physical therapy. We are proud to be the team physicians for the Portland Trail Blazers, the Portland Winterhawks and several collegiate teams and celebrate over 50 years of serving the community with a commitment to providing superior service to our patients.We are looking for a full time Registration Representative at our Lake Oswego location. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and decision making skills; Ability to work with a great deal of accuracy and attention to detail; Organizational and office skills, including data entry; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Strong attendance history and the ability to work independently is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Be alert and helpful to ensure patients find the appropriate office, exit, etc. and offer
    directions when needed. Assist patients (ie-getting the door, wheelchairs, etc) as needed.
  • Ensure patients register through portal to assist with daily clinic flow including but
    not limited to medications, prior medical history and demographics.
  • Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information and medical history to
    ensure accuracy. Confirm and pre-verify state and motor vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Explain credit policies, privacy practices and the differences with contracted vs. noncontracted insurance companies.
  • Process receipts for copays and deposit payments. 
  • Act as a point of contact for clinical team insurance related questions.
  • Train new and existing employees and address knowledge gaps with additional
    instruction in a supportive manner.
  • Assist supervisor with creating and maintaining training aides and protocols when
    requested.
  • Alert supervisor and/or administration if suspicious persons are on the premise. Contact
    security as appropriate.
  • If any office location is underutilized or closed, staff from the closed office may be
    required to travel to another office to cover.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Cross train and assist other departments as necessary.
  • Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years' customer service experience, medical experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology desirable.
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurances, payers, benefits and contracts preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.
