Job Description:

As a Construction Safety Officer (CSO) with our client, you will be integral in establishing and enforcing safety policies that exceed the regulatory standards. Your role is pivotal to ensure the safety and well-being of all workers and site visitors, ultimately supporting the company’s mission of building efficient, sustainable, and safe structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement and monitor the company's health and safety policy, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
  2. Conduct regular site safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify potential hazards.
  3. Manage accident and incident protocols, including investigation and reporting.
  4. Organize and conduct safety training and education programs, and prepare safety awareness materials.
  5. Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to develop site-specific safety plans.
  6. Promote a positive health and safety culture within the company.
  7. Maintain updated knowledge of construction safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Valid BC Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the modular construction industry.
  3. Excellent understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with conducting safety training using digital tools.
  5. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement safety plans and manage safety documentation.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability.
