ReadySet is Hiring a Remote DEI (Generalist) Consultant

***PLEASE NOTE*** ReadySet believes in transparency - in this case, that means letting you know that we are not actively hiring at this time. However, nothing is stopping us from getting acquainted, so we know of your interest and also to connect with the DEI community at large. So, if you'd like to be taken under future consideration and occasionally hear from us in a community sense, please proceed with the application process.

ReadySet is a boutique high-touch diversity solutions firm which supports organizations in becoming more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. We work with high-impact organizations across sectors to create and implement innovative approaches for building culture at scale. We also develop strategic Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plans, review and revamp organizational policies and programs, run workshops and training, and advise organizational leadership. Our aim is to analyze and employ data to support clients in harnessing their innovative potential and bring together essential DEI initiatives into cohesive, impactful initiatives.

ReadySet is growing! We are looking for creative and critical thinkers with consulting experience to support our strategic client engagements. As a Consultant, you will partner directly with our clients to help them better understand their people, systems, and behaviors that contribute to their cultures and help them work towards a more diverse, equitable and inclusive version of themselves.

As a Consultant, you will:

  • Conduct and drive culture assessments. Support ReadySet in conducting assessments of client organizations’ cultures, policies, processes, and strategy in partnership with our service teams.
  • Design engagements and develop DEI strategies. Assist in designing and tailoring engagements and strategic plans in response to assessment findings in collaboration with clients.
  • Advise on people processes and policies. Consult with clients and internally on issues related to hiring, performance management, promotion, and other people processes and DEI best practices.
  • Implement projects. Support project planning, assist with change management and internal communications to ensure that DEI strategic recommendations are implemented smoothly.
  • Manage projects, and lead engagements and core teams. Manage discrete projects within engagements with increasing autonomy over time and delegation to support staff.

You may also:

  • Conduct and apply research. Apply your expertise or experience (particularly those with a data or people science background) to bring forward important insights and discoveries that help ReadySet provide innovative solutions and move the needle forward.
  • Analyze data in client assessments. Using quantitative and qualitative analysis on client data, support ReadySet in conducting client assessments of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within client organizations. Provide strategic insights based on data. Prepare and deliver presentations of assessment findings and recommendations for clients.
  • Present and discuss data insights with an executive audience. ReadySet is an evidence-based firm and we often use both quantitative and qualitative data to inform our work and get buy-in from executive teams. In some engagements you will use available data, with assistance from a People Scientist, to tell effective and impactful stories and help shape initiatives and engagements.
  • Conduct workshops or learning sessions around particular topics. While this role is not focused on learning and development, our practitioners often enjoy facilitating workshops and learning sessions around topics of interest or around consulting related activities, like how to create DEI strategies and values, Inclusive Management, Inclusive Hiring, among others.

We’re looking a for an experienced, solutions-oriented, and data-driven consulting professional who has:

  • Masters degree or four years professional experience in organizational psychology, human resources management, law, policy, business management, or related field. Prior consulting experience is strongly preferred and sets you up for success.
  • Past project and/or account management experience aligned with our high touch, highly tailored approach to client work.
  • Strong written and oral/expressive communication skills for meeting facilitation and deliverable development.

Someone who will be successful in this role will be:

  • Deeply familiar with diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizations, as demonstrated through work or volunteer experience.
  • Very detail oriented and organized; you notice things most people don't!
  • Comfortable with having difficult conversations and engaging in emotional labor with our clients.
  • Delighted to balance their time between self driven work and collaborative creation with others. Bonus for experience working in startup environments where structure is being defined and iterated on.
  • In strong alignment around working on a human-centered team that values empathy, a growth mindset, and supporting each other while getting the work done.

Bonus Points for:

  • Data Science backgrounds, including:
    • Experience with both quantitative (e.g., surveys, demographics reporting) and qualitative research methods (e.g., focus groups), research design, and ability to communicate complex, data-driven insights and analyses.
    • Comfort/experience working with sensitive people data and systems including Workday, Greenhouse, Bamboo and other HRIS data.
    • Experience with survey design, analysis, and process.
  • Familiarity with organizational psychology, sociology, change management, or critical theory or another human-centered discipline or approach.
  • Prior people management experience highly desired.
  • Past industry experience in entertainment and media or government workplace contexts.

We’re a small, but growing team that believes in the values of continual learning, creative engagement, and research-driven results. We’re remote first and fully distributed within the United States. This is a full-time role and work from home for the foreseeable future. Our staff work core hours of 10am-2pm Pacific Standard Time.
