Re:Car, is a new US company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space.

Founded in early 2022, Project Re:Car spent its formative months establishing a leadership team and the product definition.

Who we are looking for

Re:Car is seeking an experienced associate general counsel to lead the sales, marketing and regulatory matters and support our consumer vehicle products. You will provide strategic business development advice and counsel pertaining to Re:Car’s direct sales business related to sales, service, delivery, marketing and financing of our products.

As Associate General Counsel, Sales, Marketing and Service, you will drive the company’s launch of sales and service while ensuring compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and statutory requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with business stakeholders to review and resolve state regulatory matters related to our sales, service and marketing business strategy.
  • Support Sales, Marketing and Brand on the release of new products and programs.
  • Provide advice and counsel on laws and regulations applicable to the automotive industry.
  • Provide legal support related to new market expansion globally and for sales and marketing initiatives and events related to vehicles, charging and energy products, and other services.
  • Analyze the impact of legal, compliance, counterparty and other risks in marketing campaigns, contractual agreements, terms and conditions, disclosures, and process flows.
  • Act as the team’s primary legal resource for marketing initiatives, physical retail and experiential marketing, and marketing-related vehicle placements.
  • Work with senior attorneys on the Product & Consumer legal team to support initiatives to expand company's reach within existing markets and into new markets.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a variety of commercial agreements, with a focus on strategic partnerships and third-party services required to support aligned business areas.
  • Manage and support proactive development of legal and regulatory resources to support company's growing commercial footprint, including development of training materials, knowledge repositories, policies, processes, and guidelines.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to internal clients on a range of commercial matters arising from various transactions and projects,

What You’ll Bring

  • JD Degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Member of a state bar
  • 12 years of experience in the practice of law with a minimum of 5 years working in-housel.
  • Ability to exercise business and legal judgment with strong problem-solving, research, and project management skills and work closely with the business
  • Preferably, experience working for an EV OEM or supplier or law firm supporting same
  • Prefer candidates who live in Pacific Standard Time Zone

Base salary - US wide $119,012 - $255,165

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Re:Car reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices. In addition to base pay, Re:Car also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs – 401k match, annual bonus and company equity, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans, HSA/FSA.
