RD Graham Electric is Hiring an Estimator Near Greensboro, NC

Purpose and functions;
The purpose of this position is to provide customers a final job proposal to include scope of work
and costing based upon information submitted. This position will analyze and review documentation
and drawings which have been provided by the General Contractor or other customers. Upon completion
of their responsibilities as listed below this position will provide a neat, well organized written
proposal to the customer on the specified date as noted in the bid documents. The proposal will be
developed and presented using RDGE templates. Duties include but are not limited to;
  • Maintain and organize estimates using RDGE templates and software
  • Prepare accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner using the RDGE
estimating software provided
  • Review, analyze and understand job drawings, job specifications and other provided data
  • Provide clear, detailed quantity take off documents using RDGE templates
  • Review and organize sub-contractor quotes and ensure quotes meet job specifications and
requirements
  • Attend pre-bid walk throughs as required
  • Ability to develop design build estimates and proposals
  • Ensure all RFI's and relevant bid documents are maintained in the bid file
  • Ensure all addendums and revised drawings are maintained in bid file
  • Request and maintain all unit pricing and quotations received from vendors
  • Ensure all specialized equipment or subcontractor needs are accounted for in bid
proposal
  • Ensure consideration for all safety initiatives have been accounted for in the bid cost
  • Ensure all labor costing for other than normal operations is accounted for in the bid
cost
  • Encourage an environment of open communications and a culture of safety Education, training and
experience
This position should have experience working in a fast pace office setting in which coordinating
multiple tasks and functions, often at the same time, is common practice. This individual should
demonstrate the ability to analyze information, maintain accurate documentation, develop and track
costing and budgetary implications, have attention to detail and experience completing job
specification review as well as drawing take off. Additionally, this position should have a
background using the Microsoft Office suite as well as navigating proprietary software programs.
The Estimator should be able to demonstrate progressive job experience indicating prior
responsibilities and experience as an estimator. While formal education is not a requirement for
this position, an AAS, AOS or BA in Construction Management, Project Management, Business,
Management or a related field would prove to be beneficial. Trade related
certifications are also beneficial in completing job responsibilities.
