Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough title searches and examinations to ensure the validity and accuracy of property titles
- Review and analyze legal documents, such as deeds, mortgages, and contracts, to determine ownership and any potential issues or encumbrances
- Identify and resolve any title defects or discrepancies that may arise during the examination process
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations for clients or internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with attorneys, lenders, real estate agents, and other parties involved in the transaction to address any title-related concerns or questions
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to title examination
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of basic math principles and the ability to perform calculations accurately
- Previous experience in title examination or a related field, such as financial services or escrow, is preferred
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, including FNMA, TILA, Fair Housing regulations, and other applicable state and federal guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to identify potential issues or discrepancies in title documents
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders involved in the transaction process
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Proficiency in using computer software and databases for research and documentation purposes
