Position Overview:

R.C. Fabricators, Inc. is now seeking a full-time Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years demonstrated experience in coordinating and performing diesel fleet preventive maintenance and repair on DOT, Non-DOT and heavy equipment. Technical education and or ASE Certification is preferred, not required. 

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, schedule, monitor and perform preventive maintenance as recommended by DOT and or manufacture guidelines and regulations.
• Fleet diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems with minimum support including heavy equipment, tractors, trailers, pick-up trucks and other company vehicles.
• Interacts with drivers to determine the nature of the compliant or concern.
• Notifies drivers in advance of the next PM scheduled service.
• Provides roadside assistance.
• Provides remote triage to drivers and provides the best solution for roadside assistance.
• Facility maintenance, inventory management, purchasing and other responsibilities as defined by Production Manager.
• Adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-3 years demonstrated experience.
• Practical knowledge of DOT regulations and standards.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Superior Time Management Skills.
• Basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
• Must be available to work weekends as needed, this position requires on-call responsibilities.
• Technical Ed., and or ASE Certification are preferred, but not required.
• All candidates called for an interview must bring a copy of his/her current motor vehicle report with a minimum of 3 years driving history.
• Candidates are required to successfully pass pre-employment screenings including background check, physical examination, and substance abuse screenings.
