We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 100% Remote Cloud Engineer to join our team and contribute to the ongoing success of our DOD secure cloud infrastructure. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud-based systems and services, with expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows environments). In this role you will:

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and assess system architecture for effective cloud solutions.
• Develop and implement cloud security measures, including identity and access management, data encryption, and network security.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud-based systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools and techniques.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud services into application architectures, ensuring seamless deployments.
• Conduct regular system audits, capacity planning, and performance tuning to proactively address issues.
• Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices applicable to our environment.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS, with expertise in RHEL and Windows environments.
• Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
• Solid understanding of Red Hat Linux and Windows Server operating systems, including system administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and infrastructure management.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration (tools like Kubernetes is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and VPN.
• Strong background in Networking to include Juniper Secure Vector Routing (SVR)
• Demonstrated ability to implement cloud security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid IAT level II certification (i.e., CompTIA Security (ce)) or be able to get this certification within 90 Days of Start
• Bachelors Degree and 10 Years Experience
• Must have a valid DoD Secret clearance
