RBP Chemical Technology is Hiring a Procurement Support Specialist Near West, WI

Position Title: Procurement Support Representative Date: April 2024

Reports To: Director of Operations

General Summary:

The Procurement Representative at RBP Chemical Technology plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of procurement processes and delivering superior customer support across all RBP divisions. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and setting up new suppliers, processing orders and billing, maintaining inventory and supply lists, and providing exceptional customer service. They will support the Purchasing/Material Control Coordinator and Customer Service Department. This position demands excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to maintain and enhance the company's supply chain and customer relationships.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Procurement Responsibilities:

  • Research and establish new suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries, issues, and complaints related to orders, billing, pricing, freight, services, applications, and credit/returns efficiently and professionally.
  • Process direct purchase orders from initiation to billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee the receipt of direct purchase orders and ensure inventory is updated accordingly.
  • Run inventory reports to monitor stock levels and place stock purchase orders as needed.
  • Update and maintain the supply list, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
  • Engage with vendors to negotiate terms, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Perform cycle inventory counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Log price changes and update the procurement system to reflect current pricing.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure procurement processes align with company requirements.
  • Assist Customer Support when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirement:

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Skills & Experience Required:

-Minimum 2 years procurement/customer service experience required.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

-Excellent communication skills and problem solving ability.

-Basic accounting/math skills required.

-Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

-Professional telephone techniques required.

Professional Licensing and/or Certifications Required: None

Physical Requirements: None

Work Environment: Normal office environment with minimal exposure to fumes from plant and lab.
