As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment. This is a vital role in our organization, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of cranes on construction sites or in industrial settings.
Duties:
- Operate cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment
- Rig loads for lifting and ensure proper attachment
- Inspect cranes before each use to ensure they are in proper working condition
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries
- Communicate with ground crew or signalers to ensure safe operations
- Perform routine maintenance on cranes as needed
- Keep accurate records of crane operations and maintenance activities
Experience:
- Previous experience operating cranes, preferably in a construction or industrial setting
- Knowledge of rigging techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with different types of cranes, such as boom trucks or forklifts
- Commercial driving experience is a plus
- Ability to operate other heavy equipment is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues is preferred
- Experience working in a warehouse or shipping/receiving environment is beneficial
Requirements:
- 5 years minimum experience.
- Valid crane operator certification/license
- Strong attention to detail and focus on safety
- Physical stamina to withstand long hours of standing and operating equipment
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception
- Ability to work well in a team environment
