Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with various respiratory conditions. You will collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, provide patient education, and ensure optimal respiratory care. The role requires strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, as well as a compassionate and empathetic approach towards patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Evaluate patients' respiratory conditions by conducting thorough assessments and diagnostic tests
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical history
• Administer prescribed medications and therapies, including oxygen and respiratory equipment
• Monitor and adjust ventilator settings for patients requiring mechanical ventilation
• Conduct respiratory therapy treatments (e.g., chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapy)
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-management techniques
• Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately and timely in medical records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes
• Participate in the development and implementation of policies and protocols related to respiratory care
• Evaluate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety
• Stay updated with advancements in respiratory therapy techniques and technologies
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Adhere to all healthcare laws, regulations, and ethical standards
• Provide support during emergencies and assist with resuscitation efforts if necessary
• Foster a positive and respectful work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth

Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution
• Valid licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Excellent knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, techniques, and equipment
• Strong understanding of respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, and sleep apnea
• Proficient in conducting diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis
• Ability to interpret and analyze laboratory results and imaging studies
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Commitment to continuous education and professional development
