Capability Support Technician (CST) plays a pivotal role at the RTRC, contributing to the seamless operation of research programs. As a CST, you’ll be responsible for various functions, ensuring that RTRC’s facilities and capabilities run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

Storage and Inventory Management:

Take ownership of storage spaces and inventory management for all departments.

Drive accountability within departments to reduce unnecessary items.

Works closely with Finance to assist in Gov’t property inventory

Preventative Maintenance:

Formulates preventative maintenance plan and execution for on heavy laboratory equipment, with a focus on Aero-Thermal Test facilities.

Facilities Collaboration:

Work closely with the facilities teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Supports skilled trades with maintenance tasks.

Assists in the installation of new capabilities.

Critical Function Support:

Fills in for critical support capabilities, covering absences for groups such as compressed air operations and other skilled trades.

Basic Qualifications:

Excellent oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.

Familiarity with MS Office Suite of products.

High level of organization and meticulous record-keeping.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Mechanical assembly and fabrication skills, including the ability to work from blueprints and schematics.

Strict adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety rules and regulations.

Familiarity of skilled trades means and methods, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.

US Citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for security clearance.

Required Education:

The ideal candidate will have any or all of the following:

Technical School Certificate or Diploma.

Skilled Trades Apprenticeship.

Demonstrated experience working in skilled trade.

Other post-high school training (minimum two years duration) with a minimum of 4 years’ experience.

HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 83,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
