The Software organization develops software applications, including integration and test on missiles, launchers, radars, naval systems, fire control and other complex systems. Our precision software and firmware integrate operating systems, device drivers, networking, and control software to bring together sensor, guidance, and flight control processing features to complete the mission. The Software org is made up of several Centers located across the country, responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle. We are hiring for a Senior Principal Software Engineer to serve as the Coyote Launch Systems Software Lead in the Software Engineering Directorate's Effectors Center supporting the Coyote & Rapid Development programs (CRDP) portfolio of products.
The Coyote Launch Systems Software Lead is responsible for managing all cost, schedule, and execution for Software Engineering activities to deliver Launch System capabilities on the program. The Software Lead is responsible for leading the team that plans and executes all stages of software development and testing for these capabilities in the software builds. The Software Lead will also be responsible for directly contributing to SW design, development, integration, and test of the Coyote Launch System software. In addition, These activities will include but are not limited to Estimate at Completion Reviews (EACs), proposal reviews, staffing projections, and monthly metrics tracking. In addition, the Software Lead will be the primary Software Engineering interface to the customer community, program management, and other stakeholders.
This position is within the Effectors Center of the Software organization, and is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do
•Apply expertise in software development for embedded multi-processor systems.
•Manage the execution of all assigned work scope, determine the allocation of personnel within the team to perform that work, and review and approve any contract deliverables before delivery to the customer.
•Support growth through launch manager roadmap development, proposal development and the deployment and continuous improvement of people, processes, and tools.
•Represent the interests of the Software Engineering Directorate on the program.
•Extensive interaction with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Directorate Managers, Department Manager, SW Chief Product Owners, and Systems and Performance IPT lead.
•Responsible for developing a team capable of delivering the Coyote Launch manager software capabilities, integration plans, test plans, verification items, analysis scripts, test procedures and test reports.
•Responsible for interface and coordination with internal and external organizations for Software Engineering
•Identification, establishment and implementation of best practices and lessons learned.
•Represent the Raytheon Software Engineering team to the customer during regular programmatic and technical meetings.
What You Will Learn
Exposure to working on unmanned aerial vehicles.
Qualifications You Must Have
•Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other STEM related field and 10 years of relevant experience
•Active and transferable U.S. Secret government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
•Experience in missile systems design and performance requirements development.
•Experience using C/C language
•Experience developing, testing and/or integrating real-time software.
•Formal Qualification Testing (FQT) experience.
•Experience using scripting languages (Python is preferred).
•Experience using the Agile software development process.
•Experience leading teams in a technical capacity.
Qualifications We Prefer
•genSoft/COE experience.
•Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Certified and Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience.
•Program Management certification or experience

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
