Job Summary :

A family-owned company headquartered in Irvine, California, our organization is a leading player in the egg industry in the USA.

Operated by a team of experienced professionals, we manage all aspects of the egg supply chain, from farming to logistics.

We are rapidly expanding and seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a background in the food industry / commodity markets and be familiar with supply chains into retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and food service sectors.

Experience in a smaller or start-up environment requiring hands-on involvement and scalability of accounting functions is preferred.

Responsibilities :

• Direct and coordinate budget preparation and financial forecasts, reporting variances.
• Manage financial risk.
• Oversee accounting operations including Billing, A / R, A / P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting.
• Research and address technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Develop and enforce corporate accounting policies in compliance with GAAP, staying updated on accounting regulation changes.
• Manage and ensure compliance with local, multi-state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Lead, motivate, and develop the accounting team.

Qualifications :

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or equivalent required, Master's a plus.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller.
• 8 years of combined accounting and finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in tax reporting, including multi-state and shareholder aspects.
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end / year-end close processes.
• ERP systems implementation experience; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
• Strong technology, analytics, and management skills.
• In-person work required Monday - Friday, based out of Irvine, CA.

• Base Salary : $150,000 to $200,000 per year discretionary annual bonus.
