High School - Head Varsity Football Coach for 2024-25 school year
Requirements:
Previous coaching experience at a competitive level
Success in building a winning culture
Strong communication skills
Exemplary interpersonal skills; possessing good judgment, resolve, and compassion
Ability to represent the school in personal encounters and public settings
Excellent organizational and self-direction skills
Proficient in cultivating a positive environment
Competent in managing individuals/groups
Skilled at problem resolution
Ability to develop assistant coach(es)
Working knowledge of interscholastic athletic program regulations
Demonstrate a strong desire to manage and build a program at all levels
Certification Requirements for coaching (must be obtained before start of season)
Pupil Activity Permit
Fundamentals of Coaching Certificate
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training
First Aid for Coaches
Concussion in Sports Certificate
Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training
Mental Health Training
Up-to-date Background Check
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will oversee all phases of the football program including, but not limited to, player development, monitoring academic success, staff development and mentoring, college recruiting process, community relations, youth football league, and equipment inventory.
Know and understand HS Football rules and regulations.
Maintaining and storing athletic equipment.
Conducts try-outs and informs team candidates about eligibility requirements.
Ensures all athletes meet eligibility requirements before and during the season.
Plans/supervises practices and games.
Develops training programs that are safe and effective for student-athletes.
Prompt and regular attendance.
Works collaboratively with staff, Athletic Director, families, and community resources.
Help each participating students achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
Maintain necessary attendance forms, proof of insurance records, physical records, code of ethics, parent permission forms, and similar paperwork.
Oversees the safety condition of the facility or area in which assigned sport and/or activity is conducted at all times that students are present.
Enforces discipline and sportsmanship behavior at all times.
Employment is pursuant to appropriate background checks and the obtainment of certifications and licensure required by the OHSAA.
