Purpose Monitor and maintain quality of all products produced at RMA Baytown in accordance with Quality, Laboratory, Environmental and Safety systems while providing excellent support to production. Areas of Responsibility / Tasks General Policy Perform all duties of a Quality Tech.Support Management with the Lab functions in order to meet the daily department requirements.Direct and assist the lab techs with the completion of daily goals.Must be knowledgeable of all lab policies, procedures and work instructions.Test and inspect samples to identify all non-conforming material.Delegate testing for each line.Assist technical support on all testing equipment.Assist with the departments training and completion of training records.Assist and oversee lab housekeeping.Assist and oversee job packet organization/recordkeepingAssist Management with corrective actions and customer complaints.Provide production process support when required; Confidence to shut down an extruder when a quality concern makes it necessary.Support manufacturing by assisting with re-work, formulation, SPC reaction plan adjustments and SOC changes as necessary to produce product within specification.Prepare data for lot certifications and enter SPC data from off-line testing. Prepare customer samples as requested for external testing and customer shipment.Oversee and assist with laboratory equipment PM’s, Verifications and Calibrations.Train, coach, assist and verify manufacturing personnel to be able to properly perform in-process product inspections.Follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental Procedures.Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manger. Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications Education:High school diploma or equivalent - required 1-2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment (plastic experience preferred).Experience:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel.Ability to manage time, organize, and set priorities.Forklift license required.Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. Competencies; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA)To perform this role successfully, an individual must have experience achieving desired result(s) in their areas of responsibility.
