Position SummaryThe Project Estimator will be located in Northwest Arkansas and will closely consult with the various Division Land Development teams located across the country to ensure the company is designing and developing efficient single-family subdivisions while maintaining the most accurate and comprehensive financial and budget analysis possible.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review plans/specifications for opportunities to value the Civil Engineer
  • Quantity Takeoffs: Review plans and coordinate with the Civil Engineer to develop accurate takeoffs for estimating, bidding and construction
  • Budgeting: Create and maintain initial and final project budgets
  • Bid/Award Process: Partner with the market team to create bid lists, send projects out to bid, review bids, and provide detailed analysis of all bids to ensure competitive pricing, timing, etc. Coordinate Trade Partner Agreements as needed
  • Purchase & Change Orders: Partner with the market team to review POs and COs as required to ensure the company is receiving the best possible pricing
  • Additional duties as required
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in estimating, land development, field project management, or related
  • Knowledge of Civil design, development, and construction practices related to earthwork, water, utilities, and pavement installation
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, interpret, and resolve inconsistencies and problems in construction plans and specifications
  • Highly self-motivated and driven to meet commitments & deadlines
  • Able to multi-task and manage several on-going projects in an organized and efficient manner
  • Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices
  • Ability to use a computer to submit weekly and daily reports and/or status updates
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 2 Years estimating single family residential development projects
Physical Demands
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and frequently moving small objects
  • Frequently sitting for long periods of time
  • Walking or standing occasionally
  • This position works mostly indoors going outdoors may be frequently required
  • Must have manual use of hands and vision to use computer constantly
