Ratcliff Constructors, LP is growing, and we have an opening for a Chief Estimator to join our team! Our Estimators must be organized, proactive, forward-thinking individuals to compile bids and manage bid day activities. Candidates must have a high level of demonstrated excellence in owning the entire estimating process to include: setting up estimates, preliminary estimating, estimating general conditions and self-performed scopes of work, management of negotiated and hard bid estimates, experience putting together high-end proposals, as well as compiling presentations for both internal and external clients.

It is critical that candidates have a proven record of conceptual estimates that can be relied upon. The right candidate understands all aspects and risks of a project and effectively anticipates issues and adjusts accordingly during the estimating phase of a project. Must be able to administer complete project scope analysis, read plans and other plan spec documents to adequately perform job duties. Must be able to quickly analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing and verify scope of work including inclusions and exclusions. An in-depth knowledge of writing subcontracts, purchase orders, and reviewing owner contracts is a plus.

The Chief Estimator remains involved for the duration of the project to address any issues, planning and scheduling that may have modified or faltered from the original plan. Must have strong interpersonal skills and maintain good relationships with clients and the architectural community to help build and maintain relationships to extend the Ratcliff network of customers & partners.

• Ideal candidates will have a minimal of 6 years commercial estimating with a successful project portfolio to include projects ranging up to $30 million in scope.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred
• Experience with programs and software to include ProCore, Primavera P6, On Screen Takeoff (OST), preferred. Experience with Microsoft office, inclusive of Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, conflict resolution, organizational skills required
• Understanding of cost estimating practices, development, and implementation
• Ability to thrive under pressure and drive tangible results
• Strong critical and innovative problem-solving skills required
