Job Description: We are seeking a talented and experienced Fashion Designer to join our creative team at RAT BOI. As a Fashion Designer, you will play a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, and developing our next collections. The ideal candidate should have a keen understanding of current fashion trends, a strong artistic vision, and the ability to translate concepts into unique and commercially viable designs. Firm grasp of technical design and knowledge is a must.

Responsibilities:

• Research and analyze current fashion trends, market demand, and consumer preferences and translate to mood boards for key apparel trends relevant to the RAT BOI customer.
• Conceptualize and develop new design concepts for upcoming collections that are relevant to the RAT BOI customer
• Expand upon current product line to develop core styles, innovate new collections, and design cherished
• Create detailed sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for each design.
• Select and source appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials for production. Prior relationships with fabric vendors and manufacturers are highly desirable.
• Measure specs and have a firm understanding of technical knowledge and ability to translate that to the garment.
• Ability to innovate in new sustainable fabrics and broaden the spectrum of our product line.
• Develop all tech packs for your designs and work closely with patternmakers and sample makers to bring designs to life.
• Oversee the production process to ensure designs are executed accurately and meet quality standards.
• Strong ability to work in start-up environment, manage your own schedule, and deadlines with autonomy.
• Work closely with fit models to ensure garments meet design specifications and fit requirements before release to production.
• Preferred experience with knits, swimwear, wovens, and extended sizing.
• The role is based in Ventura, CA but open to accommodating some remote work for the right candidate.

Requirements

• 4 years experience in apparel design.
• Strong eye and ability to work under own initiative
• Strong understanding of garment fit, construction, and experience working with fit models to ensure a perfect fit on all sizes.
• Ability to create and complete tech packs
• Experience and ease navigating Adobe Suite, and Excel
• Strong ability to juggle many different tasks, manage schedules, prioritize workload appropriately and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a team player
