Title: Billing Specialist (Council Bluffs) (Hourly / Non-Exempt)

Normal Hours: 7:00AM to 4:00PM Monday-Friday or as necessary

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Direct Reports: None

Job Overview:

The Billing Specialist performs, maintains and coordinates all Accounts Receivable functions, along with the associated reporting requirements. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for promptly responding to internal and external customer billing inquiries and/or issues. This position will adhere to all policies, procedures and guidelines established by Rasmussen Mechanical Services on a corporate basis.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all Accounts Receivable functions including all reporting requirements.

• Perform a variety of clerical accounting functions such as compiling and sorting documents, calculating and verifying amounts and posting transactions to accounts.

• Evaluate billing documents and other data for accuracy and completeness, obtaining missing or correct data when necessary

• Prepare and issue invoices for all Service and Contract work

• Ensure compliance with all aspects of Sales/Use Tax rules for each State

• Work closely with other functional teams to ensure data quality and consistency

• Communicate with various departments and external companies regarding customer billing issues

• Support the Management of Rasmussen Mechanical Services and act as a resource in gathering information, researching issues, etc.

Experience:

• Three plus years of qualified experience in multiple aspects of Accounting

Skills:

• Strong computer skills, with emphasis using Microsoft Word and Excel

• Strong typing skills

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and operate business equipment.

• Must be able to read / hear / write / spell / type and speak English clearly. Must be able to understand and follow written instructions, communicate effectively orally and written, and must be able to listen effectively.

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
