We love working with Veterinary Technician Students!

Our focus is to welcome you, as the next generation of veterinarian technicians, into our hospitals. We focus on your goals and work closely with you and the hospital teams to ensure that your essential skill practice goals are accomplished under the supervision of the veterinary technician or veterinarian that has agreed to mentor your practicum.
Our goal is to work with you to make sure we can meet the demands of your busy schedule but also give you the greatest opportunity to have the best experience while learning with our Rarebreed veterinary teams.
We want you to feel supported in applying, practicing, and improving your essential skills including your soft skills such as communication and interacting as part of a dynamic veterinary team. Practicum students will be encouraged to have frequent conversations with their supervisor to not only track which skills need to be practiced but also those you would like to revisit. Practicum students will not only have access to the highly skilled team within the practice, but also can get support from our Rarebreed Clinical Trainers when appropriate. Rarebreed will also provide you with support for career development through the Student Recruitment Liaison. When you complete your practicum, we want you to feel comfortable that you’ve gotten the best opportunity to accomplish your program goals.

Requirements:

Be enrolled in an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology program.
You are authorized to work in the United States.
You must present documentation from the Veterinary Technology practicum instructor or program director that outlines your learning goals and expectations for both you and the practice that supports your practicum course. That documentation must be reviewed by you as the student, the veterinary team member offering to supervise your practicum, and the practice manager at the practice where you hope to complete your learning experience.
