RAPPAHANNOCK COMMUNITY COLLEGE is Hiring a Custodial Technician Near Gloucester, VA
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Experience in the performance of cleaning tasks, floor care, restroom cleaning, and general custodial care.
- Ability to work effectively in a service-oriented environment with a diverse group of employees, students, and visitors to the college campus.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and use of cleaning chemicals and supplies and safety practices as related to the work.
- Ability to effectively work in a team or independently.
- Ability to effectively communicate and possess basic computer skills and knowledge, including email.
- Ability to routinely lift, push, or pull 20 pounds and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply safety techniques to be used in day-to-day custodial operations.
- Knowledge and skill in proper cleaning techniques and stripping, waxing, buffing floors, and shampooing carpets (dry and wet methods).
- Ability to operate buffers, wet and dry vacuums and other custodial equipment.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license.
- Commercial housekeeping experience.
- Knowledge of and experience with cleaning chemicals & industrial custodial equipment.
