Rapoport Academy Public Schools is Hiring an Instructional Coach (ELAR & SS) Near Waco, TX

We're seeking a dynamic and innovative Instructional Coach to join our team to support English Language Arts (ELAR) and Social Studies teachers in 5th -12th grade. In this position, you'll play a pivotal role in helping teachers deliver highly effective instruction and empower students to excel academically while developing skills for success in college, career, and life.

You'll collaborate with teachers in ELAR and Social Studies to develop and implement engaging and rigorous instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of all learners and provide personalized coaching and support for them to implement research-based pedagogical practices and content knowledge to enhance student learning outcomes.

Qualifications: 

Education/Certification: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university 
  • Valid TX teaching certificate with required endorsements/training for subject & level assigned 
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience

Special Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Knowledge of core academic subject assigned 
  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction 
  • Ability to lead peers and coach teachers on classroom management as well as instructional strategies
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills 

Experience: 

At least three years of in-the-classroom teaching

Major Responsibilities and Duties: 

Instructional Strategies: 

  • Review and support the development and implementation of lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. 
  • Support the preparation of lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles. 
  • Ensure the presentation of subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations. 
  • Plan, use, and support appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. 
  • Support teachers as they conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities. 
  • Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements. 
  • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. 

Growth and Development: 

  • Design, implement, and review ongoing assessment of student achievement through formative and summative assessments. 
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. 
  • Be a positive role model for students. 

Management and Organization:

  • Create a campus environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. 
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect staff, students, equipment, materials, and facilities. 
  • Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. 

Communication:

  • Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, and teachers. Read and respond to emails promptly.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members. 
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. 

Professional Growth and Development:

  • Participate in and implement staff development activities and coaching cycles to improve job-related skills. 
  • Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for campus staff. 
  • Compile, maintain, and file all physical & computerized reports, records, and other documents required. 
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Coaching of assigned teachers

Working Conditions: 

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
