About the job:
The Logistics Coordinator will provide various levels of support and service to the warehouse, purchasing and customer relations departments. Will coordinate all inbound and outbound shipping activities, including small package and LTL/FTL shipments, handle all freight charge disputes and fill corresponding claims, manage any overages/shortages/damages of material that has impacted the customer and company. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to order processing, obtaining freight, shipping quotes, preparing, and maintaining shipping documents, keeping accurate record of all customer returns. Communicate with suppliers, customers, and logistics partners to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations. Customer issue resolution
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Provide freight quotations, receive orders and assign shipments to appropriate carriers.
· Demonstrate a functional knowledge of logistics and company products to drive informed decisions on optimal shipping method.
· Schedule inbound/outbound shipments ensuring delivery to deadlines and mitigate risk.
· Effectively utilize the ERP system to generate the business required scheduling, routing, and documentation to fulfill order shipment.
· Quote and coordinate FCL and LCL oversea shipment with our freight forwarders.
· Coordinate with transportation to track and update status of shipments on a continuous basis.
· Reconcile and report on discrepancies in quoted versus invoiced shipping rates.
· Collaborate, coordinate and assist Warehouse staff on shipping schedule needs/issues.
· Assist customers and customer relations department with order status inquiries (delivery dates/loss/damaged freight) and related needs.
· Assist the warehouse manager with processing all returns shipments and update orders accordingly in ERP system.
· Provide valuable input to management on the continuous improvement in logistics performance, including carrier partnering and cost controls.
· Support the Customer Relations & Warehouse department as required.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
· Proven customer service skills and mind-set.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
· Ability to handle multiple shipment requests at once.
· Proven ability to prioritize tasks and effectively meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Two or more years of experience in a face paced order fulfillment center / distribution center
· Invoice audit, pay experience and LTL pricing knowledge preferred.
· Experience with ERP systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
· Experience with freight carrier portals.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
