Plans and prepares assembly/production procedures (work orders) in manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities:

• Draws up master planning to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders 
• Works directly with quality department to ensure master files are accurate to latest revisions and specs
• Assists the Manufacturing Engineering department to determine workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
• Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of assembly/production workers
• Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects
• Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
• Supports the development of assembly/production reports, prepares list of and purchase order of required materials, toll and equipment.
• Interprets customer blueprints

Requirements:

• Trade school, vocational education, apprenticeship or bachelor’s degree
• Up to 5 years as an assembly/production planner in the aerospace and/or machine shop experience in the production planning field
• Knowledge of CATIA models, Unigraphics NX, and MRP systems a plus. Some familiarity with Microsoft Suite (word, excel, access)
• Must be able to remain at workstation for extended periods of time
• Accommodation as required for reading computer screens and documentation
• Normal office environment. Maybe required to enter the assembly/production area and wear appropriate PPE as required
• The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws
