Randolph County Government is Hiring a Processing Assistant III - Transportation / Visitation Monitor Near Asheboro, NC

The primary purpose of the position is to provide transportation services to children in DSS custody; observation and supervision of court ordered family visitations; and completing written reports of observations for the visits conducted under their supervision. This position may also provide transportation services for Work First clients as coordinated with the Work First Program as well as for Medicaid clients.

Work involves demonstrating, accompanying, and working along-side parents and children to show the how to care for children when necessary; discussing basic child parenting practices and discipline techniques; transporting children in DSS custody to court ordered family visitations and observing interactions between the child and their parents, recording and reporting those observations. Worker will intervene when parents’ actions and statements are inappropriate. Work includes such tasks as:

Transporting foster children to and from family visitations.

Work involves the skilled and safe operation of a car or van transporting people or other items to a designated location.

Employee loads and unloads the vehicle, maintains operational records, and performs routine operator checks on the vehicle.

Supervising family visitations between foster children and their parents, guardians, caretakers, or other extended family members.

Completing detailed accurate documentation of supervised visits. Documentation may include, but not limited to, parent/child interactions, observed parenting skills or lack of skills, observation of behaviors to indicated substance use by adults or foster children.

Intervening in the visit when needed and end the visit if necessary. Interacting with the children and family members, when appropriate, to redirect behaviors and/or to assist the parents with basic parenting skills.

May be called to testify in court as to observations witnessed while supervising visits.

Transportation activities may include other clients for Work First and Non-Emergency Medicaid Programs.

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. The worker must be available to accomplish transportation and supervision for court ordered visitations to ensure the agency is in compliance.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Special Comments:

A verbal Spanish test will be given if applicant lists Spanish as a second language.

Pay: $29,100.32 - $31,804.00 per year
