We are seeking a Spanish teacher who is passionate about teaching and working with students. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in the language and be able to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying levels of proficiency. They should be culturally aware and have effective communication skills to explain concepts clearly and provide constructive feedback. The successful candidate should also be flexible and adaptable, able to adjust their approach to meet the demands of the curriculum and the needs of their students. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated educator who can inspire and support students to achieve their full potential. This position would be lower and mid-level Spanish students in the high school. One or two electives will also be part of this full-time position. Part time is a possibility for a well-qualified applicant.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of teaching experience
• AZ Teaching Certificate preferred but not required
• At minimum, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Ability to design curriculum and implement lessons with student-centered principles
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom of multi-level learners
• Ability to be flexible and collaborate effectively
• Communicate with parents and lead parent-student-teacher meetings to facilitate progress in and outside of the classroom
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S
• Ability to plan and facilitate hands-on and engaging lessons

Responsibilities:

• Create a positive learning community
• Support the intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth in children
• Know the strengths and areas of improvement for each child and make growth plans
• Design or improve on existing Spanish and Elective curriculum into developmentally appropriate, student-centered, and inquiry-based learning
• Plan course content and methods of instruction
• Lead an upper school advisory class
• Help chaperone an upper school co-academic trip once a year
• Provide office hours after school for student support
• Sponsor or Co-Sponsor at least one club on campus
• Collaborate on best practices with the World Language Department

Pay: $50,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
