Ramrod Distributors, a cleaning supplies distributor serving Chicagoland since 1947, has an exciting new opportunity for a Route Driver, working from our Elk Grove Village, IL warehouse. As the Route Driver, you will be responsible for making daily deliveries to Ramrod customers in a safe, timely and professional manner and picking up products as needed from vendors and delivering them to the company warehouse. Your role is to deliver our products and positively represent the company with customers and vendors at all time.

Daily job duties

Completing the company assigned route, including all stops, in safe, professional manner is the primary daily job duty.

Responsibilities

Manage the company vehicles assigned to, in a safe and professional manner and according to company policy.

Driver recognizes they are the face of the company with customers and vendors and will always act in professional manner and according to company policy.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Appropriate driver license requirements
• Clean driving record
• Willing and able to maintain a professional image and professional interaction, always, with customers and vendors.
• Willing and able to maintain a clean truck, cab, and box on a daily basis.
• Coachable, takes direction well.
• Able to manage and organize their daily routine to ensure all deliveries are made.
• Must be always accessible and responsive with cell phone.
• Works independently and able to locate delivery/pick-up addresses as needed.
• Must be in good physical condition, able to load/unload boxes/pallets from truck. Boxes may weigh up to 50 lbs. Pallets of ice melt weigh up to 2,000 lbs.
• Successful background check including employment verification, eligibility for rehire from past employers, pass drug test. No prior termination for cause.

Schedule: Daily hours depend upon the route, route hours are approximately 7:30-3:30 daily but may vary, normal weeks are 40-45 hours, must be willing and able to complete the route on daily basis. Office hours 8:30-5:00.
